I am a Bengali people. I live in West Bengal. West Bengal no doubt is a great state in India. It has a charming natural beauty. It is bounded by the Himalayas in the north as a Bay of Bengal in the south. There are also several rivers following through different parts of the land, the most important of which is the Bhagirathi. In the northern part near the base of the Himalayas and aslo in the south there are forests with their various floras and faunas.
West Bengal has many spots of tourist's interest. Among the places of historical interest we mention Murshidabad and Malda. In Murshidabad and Malda one may find many historical monuments and places built by the Muslim rulers of Bengal. In Malda one may also witness the ruins of architectural work during the time of the Pala and Sena kings of the middle ages. Then there are places of religious interest like Kalighat with its Ancient Temple of goddess Kali. Dakshineswar, Belur, kamarpukur and Jairambati associated with Sri Ramkrishna and his wife maa sarada. At Mayapur the beautiful temple of ISKCON is an attraction to tourists. So is also Shantiniketan, the Ashram established by the world poet Rabindranath Tagore. Darjeeling the queen of the hill station in the north and the Sundarbans in the south with the wild-life will always draw the tourists.
Kolkata, the principal city of West Bengal, also has several things to attract the tourists. There are the Victoria's Memorial, the Indian museum, the Marvel palace , Zoological Gardens, the Birla Planetarium,St Paul's Cathedral, the Khidirpur Dock extra,to name a few.
