India, my homeland

India, my homeland

India, my homeland
India, my motherland
India is our motherland. As our motherland like our mother, India is to us superior to heaven. India, our homeland is so big that it is often described as a sub-continent. India is bound by Myanmar and Bangladesh to the east, Pakistan and the Arabian Sea to the west. The snowy mountain range of the Himalayas stand like a giant to the north and the Bay of Bengal and the blue Indian Ocean lying to the south make scared ablution.
India is a land of rivers. The Ganga, the Brahmaputra, the Yamuna, the Indus, the Godavari, the Cauvery, the Narmada, the Tapti, the Tungabhadra, the Mahanadi are the major rivers, but the Ganga is the most sacred of all.
At present there are 29 states and 7 union territories in India. New Delhi is the capital city of India. The seat of Union Government is New Delhi, each state and union territory has its own capital city.
As India is a federal state, we have two sets of government- Union Government and State Government elected every five years by the electors. India follows social, democratic, secular, administration. Indian cultures are a composite culture built by many races and many religious groups.  Our cultural heritage is very rich.
India was under British rule for almost two hundred years. She owns her freedom on 15 August, 1947. The British Government made India his colony. Most of resources were exploited by the British ruler; naturally our developments have made progress in the spheres of agriculture, industry, education, science, technology and social security. But in unfortunately side by side of progress, problems are many illiteracy, poverty, terrorism, superstition, child marriage, dowry system, communal disturbance, regionalism are many great evils. As good citizens of the country it is our bounden duty to fight them out.
